Greg Dueck, Dawson Creek BC - Solar Consultant
As a lifelong resident of Dawson Creek, Greg believes that this area has strength and vibrant energy with great opportunity. After growing up in Dawson Creek, Greg married Joanne and they continue to work and raise their family here.

Along with an active and healthy lifestyle, a family focus has grown to include conservation and sustainable choices. Greg and Joanne joined with a group of like-minded individuals to help found Peace Energy Cooperative in the early 2000s as a vehicle for individuals to have a say in, and an investment opportunity in, the developing energy shift to renewables.

Over the years Greg has worked with the public in many ways, owned and operated his own local business, worked as the Northern Field Rep for Aeolis Wind Power as well as volunteered with Peace Energy Cooperative.

As PEC's Solar Consultant, Greg goes above and beyond and provides great service while designing solar arrays for our customers. He also provides training to the public by co-hosting regular webinars with Don. Call our office if you are wanting a solar consultation or assessment.

Tammy Lawrence, Dawson Creek BC - Office Administrator
Tammy is a small-town girl who was born and raised in Dawson Creek. Over the years, she moved from Northern BC a few times but chose to return so her then-young children, could spend time with family on their grandparents’ farm. 

She has a daughter and a son. Her son remains close with his family, living and working in Dawson Creek. Her daughter, along with her son-in-law and grandson, have been living in Asia since 2017; we can say the wind moved them since her son-in-law's career is in the wind energy industry.

Tammy has become a world traveller, and since 2017 her passport includes stamps from Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, and Australia. 

Especially now that she’s a Grammy, Tammy feels it is even more important to be involved in renewable energy for future generations.

Don Pettit, Marketing and Communications
Don has been living in the Dawson Creek area since 1974. He is a creative and commercial photographer and video producer, born, raised, and trained in southern Ontario. Don moved north for a more rural lifestyle and for greater access to the outdoors, much of his creative work being focused on nature photography.

Don has published several books of his photographs, most recently “Power Shift” a book about the creation of Bear Mountain Wind Park, and a companion video by the same name. Don is an active environmentalist and received the BC Minister’s Environmental Award in 1999. 

He was one of the founding members of Peace Energy Cooperative and has been active in the organization ever since, specializing in marketing and communication. Don lives just outside of Dawson Creek in a unique home that incorporates many aspects of sustainable living, including PV power.

Alex Adams, Director
Alex brings a robust background in engineering, management, and consulting to the PEC Board. Currently with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, he assists clients in heavy and renewable energy industries with SR&ED tax credits. Alex’s previous roles include program management at the Community Energy Association in BC and leading the industrial customer energy efficiency program at BC Hydro Power Smart. As the founder of Adams Apartments in Ontario, he combines entrepreneurial spirit with extensive knowledge of project development and financing.

Alex, a chemical engineer with an MBA, has been a long-time PEC member and is passionate about renewable energy, aiming to address financing challenges and advocate for innovative energy solutions.

Blair Hickson, Director
Blair and his wife, Doreen, are transitioning from a 35-year career in farming that emphasized rotational grazing, soil health, carbon sequestration, and sustainability.

Blair’s diverse background includes owning a retail store, a Plumbing and Heating service business, and working in the oilfield and trucking industry. His journey into solar energy began humorously with a small solar fencer in the 1990s, which has since grown into an 8850-watt solar array. Blair’s deep interest in efficiency, energy, and new technologies drives his commitment to achieving a net-zero world.

Holly Brown, Director 
Holly has been an enthusiastic member of the Peace Energy Co-operative since discovering its mission in 2023. With a Bachelor’s degree from UNBC and experience in local government administration, Holly currently serves as the HR Manager for the Dawson Co-op in Dawson Creek, BC. She is a dedicated volunteer who strongly believes in the cooperative model and its potential to create stronger, more sustainable communities.

Joanne Dueck, President
As new partners and parents, Joanne and Greg joined Peace Energy A Renewable Energy Cooperative when it was in its initial formation and conception. In 2003, Greg and Joanne attended meetings to hear of the ideas and aims, and both began volunteering. Could there be energies which were less polluting or disruptive to the land, water, and atmosphere? Could these new energies and technologies have a chance to flourish in our local community?

Joanne Dueck has served on the Board of Peace Energy Cooperative for several terms over the decades and has found it to be a joy to work alongside such hard-working, vibrant, and innovative people. Peace Energy has certainly attracted wonderful people over the years. It is marvellous to be part of such dedication and to see how people invent their own ways of solving their energy equations by putting dreams into action. It is a legacy she is proud to be part of.

Peace Energy Cooperative continues to exist so that individuals and families may be part of an organization larger and, hopefully, longer lasting than themselves.

Keith Anderson, Treasurer  
Keith Anderson was born in Peace River and has lived in the area most of his life. He has been married for 32 years and has a daughter and family in Edmonton. Keith recently retired from teaching and wishes to continue being involved in the community and making a positive contribution.

Keith's past work experiences include being an Automotive Mechanic, Instrumentation Technician, and Middle School Teacher (Math, Science, and Industrial Education), for which he holds three apprenticeship certificates and a Bachelor of Education degree. Before “the 3 R’s” became acceptable, Keith sought to reduce his and other's impact on our natural world, opposing inefficiency, waste, and “conspicuous consumption” personally and publicly. He believes his technical and teaching background may be a benefit in supporting the goals and activities of the Peace Energy Co-op.

William Lindsay, Vice President
Bill Lindsay has worked in local government all his life and retired as the Administrator of the District of Hudson’s Hope in 2006. He joined Peace Energy Cooperative in 2017 and was elected to the Board in 2018. He served two consecutive terms and left the Board in 2024 as required under the Cooperative’s rules. He was re-elected to the Board in 2026 for a three-year term.

Originally from Ontario, Bill moved to BC in 1975. He relocated to the province’s northeast in 1998 and continues to reside in Hudson’s Hope. He remains active in local affairs.
